This is a great book because each chapter deals with a specific thing to pray about and at the end of each chapter is a small bit of advice from another man about the subject and then there is an actual prayer you can pray over your wife about the topic of that chapter. So you don't actually have to finish the whole book to begin applying it to your life!! But it is strongly recommended you finish the book and use it on a regular basis!
There's also one for women! Its in the same format as the men's edition, which means, as I said before, you don't actually have to finish the whole book to begin applying it to your life. But please finish the book!!
Power of a Praying Wife

You can purchase either of these books from Amazon.com by clicking on the links, but if you're anything like I was when our marriage was in crisis, you don't want to wait for the book to be shipped to you. These books are pretty popular in the Christian book market, so you should be able to find them at your local Barnes & Noble or Borders, and also at your local Christian bookstore. This is not a plug to sell a books. These are books God used to change my life and help restore our marriage. Read them, drink them in, digest them and ask the Lord to show you where these things apply to your life and apply them.
The other two books that I've linked under the Marriage Help Books, "How God Can & Will Restore Your Marriage," (one for men, one for women) are from Restore Ministries, and are probably not available from local bookstores. I've been through the men's edition at least twice. They will walk you through different issues you may or may not need to deal with, but most importantly, they are jam packed with scripture and that is what brings about the transformation, the renewing of the mind for the one who is standing for marriage. They were written by a husband/wife team who have been there and came out of the other side with a restored marriage. Some of what is written is from experience, some is from what people shared with them. But I really think what sets these books as well as the "Power of a Praying Husband/Wife" books apart from other marriage books is the abundant use of scripture. These authors realize that God is the One who has the words of Life. While they can offer their experience, knowledge and understanding of things, God is ultimately the One who can restore your life and marriage and they are just tools He uses to touch the lives of people in need.
So I encourage you, seek God about your life, your family, your marriage. He will guide you, by the Spirit of Truth, into all Truth.
